ERASMUS+ for Students and Doctoral Candidates

Erasmus+ is the EU's program to support education, training, youth, and sport in Europe.

The Erasmus+ program provides an opportunity to complete a period of study at European higher education institutions. This period is strictly regulated by the European Commission, ranging from a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 10 calendar months within one academic year.

For the duration of their study at foreign higher education institutions under the Erasmus+ program, students do not pay: academic (tuition) fees at the host university, fees for access to laboratories, or library usage fees.

Small fees for insurance, student union membership, and the use of auxiliary materials may be required by the host university on the same basis as they are paid by the host university's own students. It is mandatory to have health insurance for the entire duration of the study period.

Erasmus+ students retain their full student rights at UACEG. They pay the tuition fee for the respective semester at UACEG and maintain their right to receive a scholarship if they are already entitled to one.

Doctoral candidates may carry out study mobility in connection with academic disciplines and exams from the doctoral minimums included in their individual doctoral plan at UACEG, or for the preparation of parts of their dissertation theses.

According to internal regulations, mobility cannot be carried out in two consecutive semesters.

Long-term mobility: from 2 to 12 months abroad (including blended mobility* with a virtual component)
Short-term mobility: from 5 to 30 days abroad (including blended mobility*)

*Blended mobility is the combination of a short physical stay abroad (between 5 and 30 days) with a virtual period before, during, and/or after the mobility. These are known as Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP). Important: only doctoral candidates can carry out short-term mobility without a virtual component.

WHEN TO APPLY?

November – December of the current year: call for applications for the next academic year with a deadline in the first week of January. Erasmus students retain their student rights at UACEG, pay tuition fees for the respective semester at UACEG, and keep their scholarships if applicable.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Students registered at UACEG and enrolled in full-time or part-time studies leading to a recognized higher education degree. Applicants must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least "Good 4.00" from completed semesters (minimum two). Doctoral candidates must be officially enrolled and have at least two months remaining before the expiration of their doctoral enrollment status.
Applicants must provide proof of language proficiency – a certificate or verification of language level.
To assist applicants without a language document, the Department of Applied Linguistics (DAL) at UACEG, together with the Center for International Activity and Mobility of Students (CIAMS), organizes language exams twice a year (October and March) when possible. Calls for these exams are published on the UACEG website. Language proficiency exams and certificates from any accredited language school are also accepted.

HOW IS IT FUNDED?

The grant for student mobility is determined based on the cost of living in the destination country. Additional funding is available for participants with special needs. The grant is not intended to cover the full costs of the mobility.
