JADE Hochschule Oldenburg/Ostfriesland/Wilhelmshaven

The Oldenburg/Ostfriesland/Wilhelmshaven University of Applied Sciences was founded in 2000 through the merger of the formerly independent universities of applied sciences in these study locations. With around 10,000 students, 800 employees and a budget of more than 60 million euros, it was the largest university of applied sciences in Lower Saxony.

With the slogan “Study better”, Jade University, with its three study locations in northwest Germany, sees itself as responsible for the development of the region in which it is deeply rooted. Here, a broad and modern range of subjects meets innovative forms of teaching. The research activities of Jade University are characterized by a high degree of practical relevance, which are carried out in cooperation with companies, associations and other institutions as well as universities and research institutes.

Our values

An appreciative approach should be firmly anchored in the culture of cooperation at Jade University so that all university members and staff feel comfortable with us and enjoy coming to campus to study and work.

The five core values - innovative, competent, cooperative, diverse and approachable - are defined in our mission statement. The mission statement describes the culture that we already live by and want to live by together at our university in the future. It also provides the framework for the university's development planning and specific target agreements.

Our management culture is based on the values of the mission statement. Our guidelines advocate a participative management style that involves employees in all processes.
