INSTITUTO POLITÉCNICO DE CASTELO BRANCO

The Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco (IPCB) is a Portuguese public polytechnic higher education institution that began its activity in 1980.

It has a wide training offer in its six higher schools: Escola Superior Agrária; Higher School of Applied Arts; Superior School of Education, Escola Superior Dr. Lopes Dias, Superior School of Management, and Superior School of Technology.

The IPCB has a Virtual Campus - a technological infrastructure based on wireless Internet connections and broad band extending to the entire institution. This alteration was paradigmatic of it and the future development of the institution in the domain and use of information and communication technologies was the starting point.

Castelo Branco, district capital, located in the Center region of Portugal, in Beira Interior Sul, is the seat of the third largest Portuguese municipality. Castelo Branco was considered in 2006, in a study carried out by DECO, the second district capital in the country with the best quality of life.
