Program

Since 2017, the Faculty of Architecture has offered a new program – "Landscape Architecture and Landscape Planning" with a 5-year duration of study, consisting of nine academic semesters and one diploma semester. The organization of the educational process includes basic, specialized, and profiling disciplines. It aims to create a logical sequence for presenting information and accumulating knowledge and skills, deepening and building upon them similarly to a real design process. Students successively study the basic rules of design and methodology, site analysis, composition creation, conceptual design development, and progression to technical and working projects, detailing, and entering the specifics of various tasks in a landscape architect's practice.

In line with modern trends, the share of disciplines concerning urban ecology, sustainable development, environmental protection, and efficient use of natural resources is significant. These courses aim to build skills for creating sustainable anthropogenic landscapes with reduced resource consumption.

The curriculum features specific theoretical and practical courses on cultural heritage preservation, which, complemented by disciplines in protected area management, provide the necessary preparation for working in modern conditions of an ever-expanding scope of protected objects and territories. Future landscape architects are prepared for active involvement in urban renewal and the restoration of the urban fabric in the post-industrial era.
