Teaching and Research Laboratory at the Dept. of "Steel, Timber and Plastic Structures"
The laboratory specializes in testing materials, elements, and structures made of steel, aluminum, timber, polymer materials, and composite structures, both in laboratory and field conditions. It also conducts experimental research for scientific projects, doctoral dissertations, and external tasks commissioned through UACEG CNIP EOOD.
Main Types of Testing
- Static;
- Quasi-static cyclic (alternating);
- Dynamic.
Force Capacity and Infrastructure
- Strong floor with a thickness of 1 m;
- Single-acting, double-acting, and hollow hydraulic cylinders – up to 2000 kN;
- Hydraulic systems with pressures ranging from 0 to 375 bar;
- Vertical, horizontal, and combined loading;
- Dynamic loading with Instron up to 50 kN;
- Gravity loading for special cases.
Sensors for Measuring Physical Quantities
- Strain gauges from 120 to 1000Ω;
- LVDT displacement sensors from 0 to ±250 mm;
- Potentiometric displacement sensors with a range of 0 to ±500 mm;
- Laser displacement sensors;
- Force transducers (load cells) 0 to 2000 kN;
- Relative and absolute pressure sensors 0 to 1000 bar;
- Accelerometers 0 to 200g.
