"Hydraulic Engineering" Program

About the "Hydraulic Engineering" Specialization

The objective of this Master's program is to qualify graduated engineers who possess knowledge in basic structural and civil engineering disciplines in the "Hydraulic Engineering" specialization within the "Hydro-construction" program. The curriculum focuses on specialized disciplines through which students acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies for the design, construction, and operation of all major hydraulic structures – dams and their associated facilities, hydropower systems, underground hydraulic structures, waterways and ports, tailing ponds, etc., with an emphasis on environmental integration and protection.

Professional Skills

Graduates develop core competencies in the design, construction, and operation of dams and associated facilities, tailing ponds, ports, coastal protection structures, river training/corrections, and hydropower systems, including Hydropower Plants (HPP) and Pumped-Storage Hydropower Plants (PSHPP). A significant advantage is the expanded knowledge of underground construction and its related hydraulic facilities.

PROFESSIONAL REALIZATION

Highly qualified specialists find career opportunities in environmental control units, Basin Directorates and councils, management structures within ministries, regional, city, and municipal administrations; investment departments of various agencies and private firms; as lecturers in vocational high schools and UACEG; in research units and institutes; commercial firms and consultancy bureaus; and as technical experts in banks and insurance companies.
