"BIM Management and Optimization of IP/P in AEC" Program
About the "BIM Management and Optimization of IP/P in AEC" Program
BIM – The Digital Revolution in Construction.
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a revolutionary technology transforming the way we design, build, and manage buildings. By creating detailed 3D models, BIM enables better planning, more effective collaboration, and higher quality in construction projects. BIM is not only the future of construction but also the key to a more sustainable and efficient built environment.
The role of the BIM Manager is to execute all procedures in BIM-based digital construction during the design, construction, and close-out phases. The BIM Manager leads and maintains the use of digital technologies to create and manage BIM content within the construction sector.
The core philosophy of the program is to break down barriers between construction disciplines. Through project-based learning, it empowers professionals to work within a multidisciplinary, collaborative design and management process based on international standards and professional guidelines. Ultimately, the essence of BIM is not about technology or processes, but about people and how their knowledge can be unified in a collaborative process to deliver a fully integrated project that meets all goals and objectives.
This Master's program is unique in Bulgaria, and its educational approach stands out among competitive programs available internationally. The demand for professionals skilled in applying BIM technologies for construction process management is very strong both nationally and internationally. It addresses the needs of a wide range of disciplines for experts qualified in collaborative design, construction, and management. Graduates are expected to find opportunities within their own disciplines as well as in emerging collaborative career paths as BIM processes become more widely adopted.
Professional Skills
Through in-depth BIM studies, students will acquire practical skills in design, collaboration, and construction project management using state-of-the-art technologies. They will learn to make informed decisions, optimize processes, and increase the overall efficiency of construction projects.
PROFESSIONAL REALIZATION
Graduates of our program will be highly qualified BIM specialists with solid knowledge in the construction field. They will be able to pursue diverse roles on an international scale, contributing to the development of innovative and sustainable construction projects. Their ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and utilize cutting-edge technology will make them highly sought-after specialists in the dynamic construction sector.

Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a degree in programs from Field 5 "Technical Sciences."
Program Structure
Duration: three semesters (the final semester is dedicated to the Master’s thesis).
Intake: Winter semester
The educational process is organized based on coordinated documentation, including qualification characteristics, the curriculum, and specific syllabi for each discipline. The program consists of mandatory and elective courses spanning two academic semesters of study, followed by the diploma thesis.
The core principles of the curriculum are aimed at meeting the need for new practical knowledge and skills through:
- A high academic level of teaching that ensures conceptual thinking and skills for the practical application of acquired knowledge;
- Integration of industry professionals into the teaching process;
- Collaborative work with students from various specialties within Field 5 "Technical Sciences."
Classes are conducted through lectures, seminars, and course projects. Previous experience with BIM software is not mandatory. Active participation in interactive combinations of theoretical and practical activities is required. Graduation takes place in the third semester following the successful development and defense of a Master’s thesis or diploma project.
