"Analysis and Design of Structures" Program
About the "Analysis and Design of Building Structures" Program (Paid Tuition)
The Master's program in "Analysis and Design of Structures" was developed by a team from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at UACEG in collaboration with City University London (Department of Civil Engineering) and Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg (Department of Civil Engineering).
The program provides specialized training for students in the field of designing complex modern structures for various purposes.
This training covers the entire process of creating new structures: conceptual design and subsequent detailing of buildings and bridges; development of appropriate computational models; methods for analyzing new, existing, and reinforced structures; modern specialized software systems for structural calculations; and the design of buildings and facilities that meet the requirements of European standards (Eurocodes).
Professional Skills
The Master's program develops strong skills in independent research and provides the knowledge necessary to create designs for various types of structures (buildings, bridges, tunnels) using specialized software tools. Students learn to perform complex analyses of structural systems and manage sophisticated projects.
PROFESSIONAL REALIZATION
Specialists in this field can pursue careers in design bureaus, construction companies, consultancy firms, research institutes, or government agencies. Roles include creating designs, supervising construction quality, assessing structural health, developing new technologies, or participating in the creation of building codes.

Admission Requirements
Candidates must have graduated from programs in Field 5.7 "Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Geodesy" with a Higher Education Diploma GPA not lower than "Good", as follows:
- Students who have completed the five-year integrated Master’s course in engineering at UACEG (Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Hydrotechnics, or Faculty of Transport Engineering).
- Students holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from other higher education institutions in "Structural Engineering" or "Transport Construction."
- International and Bulgarian students who graduated abroad with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. These candidates must undergo an official degree recognition process in accordance with state regulations for education acquired at foreign universities.
Program Structure
Duration: three semesters (the final semester is dedicated to the Master’s thesis).
Intake: Winter/Summer semester
The training includes lecture courses, seminars, practical training (both domestic and international), and independent study.
The program is conducted under the guidance of UACEG academic staff, guest lecturers from international universities, and distinguished experts with proven field expertise.
Classes take place at the "Heritage BG" Center of Excellence at UACEG, utilizing its specialized research laboratories for documentation, modeling, and conservation of immovable cultural heritage.
The program concludes with a Master's thesis aimed at demonstrating acquired professional skills in structural protection and design within a multidisciplinary team, closely mirroring real-world practice. The thesis is defended before a State Examination Commission.
